Friday Focus #74: World Spine Day Ideas for Chiropractic Teams (Say THANK YOU Out Loud)
Oct 16, 2026
Friday Focus #74 · One quick win your chiropractic team can run today
What should a chiropractic office do on World Spine Day? Skip the spine fact and say THANK YOU out loud, by name, to the patients in front of you.
Anyone can post a spine fact. Leaders say THANK YOU.
World Spine Day lands on October 16 every year, and it hands your chiropractic team a built in reason to show up. Today's focus takes under 15 minutes. Snap one photo of your team. Post two or three lines of thanks. Then say those same words out loud to your next patient, and pick ONE patient's first name you're grateful for so you can tell them at their next visit.
If you're a D.C. reading this, there's a part below just for you. And if you're a C.A. reading this, you're the one who gets to make this happen before your next patient walks in. šÆ
Evergreen note: this Focus first went out on October 16, 2026, World Spine Day. The idea works on any awareness day all year... and October 16 is the perfect day to start.
Why a spine fact gets scrolled past (and a thank you doesn't)
Picture it. It's October 16th. Your feed is full of spine models, spine diagrams, and "did you know" posts. Some of them are really good. (Facts are good. I like facts.)
But think about the last post you scrolled right past. Now think about the last time someone looked you in the eye, said thank you, and meant it. Which one do you still remember?
The unpretty truth is... a post is easy to scroll past. A THANK YOU said out loud, by name, is the one that sticks.
And today is a gift for this. World Spine Day is an annual awareness day on October 16, coordinated by the World Federation of Chiropractic, and the WFC's 2026 campaign is "Spine Health for Life." Spines are already part of the conversation today. Your office just gets to be the one that turns that conversation into a relationship.
So pause here for a second. When's the last time the people who walk through your door heard THANK YOU from your team... out loud, on purpose?
Today's focus: say it out loud (do this TODAY)
This is not a campaign. You need one photo, three lines, and your voice.
- Snap ONE photo of your team. Add your office spine model if you've got one.
- Post a short THANK YOU for World Spine Day. Two or three lines is plenty.
- Say it out loud to your next patient: "It's World Spine Day, and I'm so thankful you trust us with yours."
- Answer EVERY comment with a real question. Not just "thank you!"
- Write down ONE patient's first name you're grateful for. Tell them the next time they walk in.
Ten seconds and a name. Does that make sense?
Reading this on a day that isn't October 16? Same five steps. Swap in whatever awareness day is on your calendar (more on that in a minute).
The patient everybody avoided (a quick story)
Okay, let me tell you a quick story... this reminds me of Christine.
Christine was flagged as the office "trouble patient." The one nobody wanted to deal with. Instead of avoiding her, I got to know her. And it turns out Christine had been a motocross stuntwoman in the circus. (I know. I KNOW.)
That connection turned the patient everyone avoided into my FIRST 7 year prepay.
Side note... actually no, it's not a side note, it's the whole point. A thank you by name only works if you actually know the name.
When you pick ONE first name to thank today, your brain has to go find who that person really is. What brought them in. What they love. Who they brought along. That searching IS the connection. And Christine? Nobody had connected with her yet. That's all it was.
So the thank you isn't the strategy. The knowing is. The thank you is just how the patient finds out you know them.
Which patient on your schedule today got filed under "difficult"? What do you actually know about them?
One thank you, three places it can lead
A real THANK YOU can lead somewhere when it's on purpose:
- Reviews: a patient who just heard a sincere thank you can be an easier person to ask.
- Referrals: gratitude makes "who else in your life should feel this way?" a natural next question.
- Retention: patients tend to stay where they feel seen.
That's connection with a direction. Gratitude on purpose, leading somewhere.
Every awareness day is a built in thank you
World Spine Day is one day. Your calendar has more.
There's Chiropractic Day on September 18. October is National Chiropractic Health Month. And seasonal moments like Halloween are right there too.
The day changes. The move doesn't. One photo. Two or three lines. One name, said out loud.
And if you'd love someone to hand your team the monthly plan, that's exactly what the Momentum Call inside the Connected Community is for. It's our monthly front desk prep and marketing audit, with the exact statements and timing that match the month, so your team isn't figuring out the next awareness day the morning of.
For my D.C.s reading this
With love, Doc... you might be thinking this is a C.A. thing. It's a both thing.
If you're the D.C. whose team only posts when you remind them, this isn't about effort. It's about handing over a simple move with a clear finish line. One photo. One name. Done before the weekend.
And if you're the D.C. who already has a rock star team that says thank you all the time, this still belongs on your radar. Saying it nicely is one level. Saying it on purpose, by name, with a real question after... that's a different level. Both can be true.
So here's the task you hand your C.A. today:
"Before your next patient walks in, pick ONE patient's first name you're grateful for. Snap a team photo and post two or three lines of thanks. Before you clock out, tell me whose name you picked and what they said back."
Then at the next huddle, ask out loud: "Who did we thank by name this week, and what did they say?"
One gentle frame, with love... handing this to your team is delegating. Handing it over and never asking about it again is abdicating. Trust your team with the doing. Keep the question for yourself.

This is your permission slip to LEAD, not just work.
You don't need the doctor's nod to start leading that front desk. You're allowed to walk in and say, "I already picked my name for today, and here's the photo I'm posting."
Then when that patient arrives, say it. "It's World Spine Day, and I'm so thankful you trust us with yours." Ask ONE real question after. Then LISTEN. That's the whole move.
You are not now, nor will you ever be, "just the front desk." You're the person who decides whether a patient feels like a chart number or a name.
So who's the first name on your list?
Fact sharing teams vs. connected teams
ā Fact sharing teams post a spine diagram and move on.
ā
Connected chiropractic teams say THANK YOU out loud... and turn one awareness day into a real conversation.
So which one is your office? Are you the team that posts the fact... or the team that says the name?
Frequently asked questions
When is World Spine Day?
World Spine Day is held every year on October 16. It's an awareness day coordinated by the World Federation of Chiropractic, and the WFC's 2026 campaign is "Spine Health for Life." In 2026, October 16 falls on a Friday.
What should a chiropractic office post on World Spine Day?
Skip the spine diagram and post one real photo of your team with two or three lines of thanks. Then answer every comment with a real question, not just "thank you!" A genuine thank you gets more conversation than a fact does.
What should a chiropractic team say to patients on World Spine Day?
Try: "It's World Spine Day, and I'm so thankful you trust us with yours." Then ask ONE real question and listen to the answer. Pick one patient's first name you're grateful for and tell them at their next visit.
Who should run World Spine Day in a chiropractic office, the D.C. or the C.A.?
The C.A. owns the doing: the photo, the post, and the thank you out loud. The D.C. owns the question at the team huddle. That's delegating, not abdicating, and it keeps the doctor's attention on patients.
Does this work on other awareness days?
Yes. Swap in the day on your calendar, like Chiropractic Day on September 18 or National Chiropractic Health Month in October. The move stays the same: one photo, a few lines of thanks, and a thank you said out loud by name.
Your one move before you close the tab
You don't need a big plan. You need one name and ten seconds.
Pick the first name now, before you close this tab. That's today's assignment.
A fact gets a like. A name gets a patient who stays.
